The very title of the manga/anime brings out a sense of what the story has in store for the audience. Fairy tail is a story written and illustrated by Hiro Mashima. Doing justice by its name the story includes multiple fairy tale elements like magic, dragons, curses, wizards, princesses and many more.
It is an action-filled story which follows a certain guild of wizards known to be notorious and unruly throughout the land, leaving a trail of havoc and collateral damage behind even when they were only doing the right thing. The main character - Natsu Dragneel, is a one of, if not most famous member of said guild. Natsu, together with Happy- his talking, flying cat and best friend go on adventures trying to earn a living. Along with Natsu and Happy are his other guild members, Lucy, Gray and Erza all of whom hold a special place in his heart.
Each character has unique magic abilities that they use to fight which makes the visuals that much more awe-inspiring. From Natsu's fire magic to Grays’s Ice magic ( making them polar opposites which is why the two can never see eye to eye) the visuals of the anime are definitely a treat.

The story in a holistic point of view has elements of personal growth, undying friendship and loyalty, the concept of loss and other deep meaningful values which are embedded within the plot. Its slapstick humour makes it that much more interesting as no values are complete without satire. Besides its interesting plot, what makes the anime great are the soundtracks. The energetic soundtracks bring to life the jovial tone of the anime as a whole. All in all its a colourful anime worth watching especially if you’re not looking for anything too serious.
My 2 cents on this series is that it's super fun. I personally loved the action scenes and Natsu’s sheer will that makes him stronger. Cliche though it may be, it is one of those feel-good anime I can revisit, just laugh a little. Of course, there have been moments of boredom but that comes with any long-running anime. But its those edge of the seat moments that show up in the story that make it worthwhile. Fairy Tail to me is a classic, action-filled anime that any teen boy or girl would love. Another really nice factor I’ve come to appreciate from the anime is the character development each one of them goes through. Definitely makes it worth investing some time into.
